Shahab Hosseini wins award at Beijing filmfest

Iranian superstar Shahab Hosseini has won an award at the Beijing International Film Festival in China.

Hosseini garnered the award for best actor at the 2021 edition of the event for his performance in ‘Any Day Now’.

The film narrates the story of a young boy of 13 years of age whose life in a village in Finland turns upside down when his parents’ application for asylum gets rejected.

Shahab Hosseini portrays the role of the father of this family who don’t sink into despair regardless of their insecure and uncertain life in a country that does not want to accept them.

Aran-Sina Keshvari, Shabnam Ghorbani and Kimiya Eskandari are the rest of the cast members of the flick.

Founded in 2011, the Beijing International Film Festival is an event attended by international executives, directors, producers and studio heads.

The 11th edition of the festival was held on September 21-29, 2021.
